Pornhub is now offering happy time via college scholarship money. You just need to strip a little dignity to compensate for desperation.
Pornhub, which has a reported 78.9 billion video views annually, is asking college students to strip their dignity. Nudity and anything beyond isn’t part of this story line. The behemoth porn site is handing over $25,000 in scholarship money to the chosen recipient who can convincingly emote a 1,000 to 1,500-word essay on how the applicant strives to make others happy.
Pornhub unabashedly states on its site that “It’s been said how you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you,” and as a continued measure of philanthropy, it is also asking applicants to submit a two-to-five minute video that details their good deeds.
Of course, critics have a few words to share, to wit that Pornhub is exploiting students who are desperate to pay off loans. Dawn Hawkins, executive director of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, believes that no amount of hard currency could indemnify the character assassination done to a potential victim. “These videos follow them the rest of their lives and affect their jobs and relationships in the future to have this out there. It’s really unfortunate we’re forcing our kids to sell their bodies to get an education.”
One striking example of a college student that took advantage of being taken advantage of was Belle Knox, a Duke University student who entered into the dark arts to amortize a $60,000 per year tuition albatross.
However, there are strings to remain attached. Auditionees must excel at or beyond a GPA of 3.2, and the payload is for any major—creativity encouraged. Following other related laws, applicants must be 18 years of age or older. The deadline climaxes on October 31.
