The Indonesian branch of Samsung may have just spilled the beans a week early.
Samsung’s Indonesian branch may have just leaked the Galaxy S7 a week earlier than planned, giving fans an early peak at what to expect from the latest offering. You can watch the video below.
The branch posted an unlisted commercial marked #TheNextGalaxy on its official YouTube channel, according to a The Verge report.
The commercial gives us a sneak peak at some of the new features of the S7. It certainly looks similar to the S6 and the S6 Edge. But considering the fact that the user in the video has it out in the rain, waterproofing appears to be a definite new feature. In addition, it also has a wireless charging pad.
The video also implies that there will be extra security on the phone for privacy-conscious users. It also may feature better low-light photography based on the phrase “bring light to the night” alongside the image of a camera lens.
Samsung was planning on officially unveiling the S7 at 1 p.m. February 21st in Barcelona, but this video leak may have stolen their thunder.
Of course, not everyone is convinced it’s an accidental leak. Some are speculating that Samsung is trying to get press coverage a week before the launch by pretending to have accidentally released details. But others counter that it seems unlikely a manufacturer would want to accidentally leak its flagship produce a week before a high-profile launch.
The Samsung Galaxy has become one of the most popular smart phones in the world. The Galaxy S series has sold more than 177 million units.
