Costco is recalling its frozen organic foods after listeria was found in peas.
A contamination of organic peas has caused a major frozen organic food recall at Costco.
Authorities are concerned about a possible listeria contamination, resulting in a Costco Wholesale Canada to issue yet another organic food recall, according to a Food Safety News report.
The brand is Organic by Nature, and authorities are concerned that the supplier’s frozen sweet peas could be t risk of listeria — the second time in a matter of days that a frozen organic food has been recalled at Costco, following frozen organic group that was linked ot a Hepatitis A outbreak that resulted in 13 people getting sick, according to the report.
The recalls apply to frozen peas sold at locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
You can identify which Organic by Nature sweet pea products fit the recall by looking for the following information: weighs 2.5 kg; its best-by dates are 10-22-17, 12-03-17, and 03-16-18; and it has a UPC number of 8 46355 00061 9.
Because these products have such a long shelf life, it might be a good idea to check your freezer to see if you have one of these products, health officials advise.
