Joe Jonas and Brazilian model Daiane Sodré are officially an item, making this the singer’s first committed relationship since splitting from Gigi Hadid. The two were first spotted together last month, although an insider said they have been together “for a while.”

A source revealed to People magazine: “Joe is super happy with Daiane. They’ve been together for a while now. He’s pretty content with the relationship which is out of character for him.”

Jonas – who split from 21-year-old Hadid in 2015, said he found it therapeutic to compose songs about their breakup. However, such tracks are not officially available as he is now “in a different place” in his life.

He said: “Those songs in particular didn’t make the album. You might hear them eventually, songs leak all the time, but I think the place I was in my life when I wrote them, I’m not there anymore, so it wouldn’t make sense to release them.

I’m much happier than I was. They were reactive and therapeutic. You’ve got to let it all out and sometimes you have to step back and say, ‘Is this me still to this day?’ and you see that you’re in a different place.”

The singer had previously admitted that his friends are generally “tough” on his potential dates and relationships.

“The biggest test is bringing her around friends because I have friends who are really tough about new people – we have a really tight circle. You bring them around friends and see if they can handle themselves well – that’s usually a good test …”

The artist – who has dated Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift – says that fame and the spotlight can be difficult at times.

“I think fame is something that kind of comes with what you do. Some people handle it differently. I grew up around it, so it hasn’t always been an easy thing for me, but you learn to adjust and adapt to how you’re comfortable,” he shared.
