This comes shortly after threatening to make the account “Private”
Justin Bieber has decided to delete his Instagram account due to fans criticizing his 17-year-old girlfriend, Sofia Richie. This comes shortly after the singer initially threatened to make the account private.
Although he did follow through, Bieber eventually restored it in an attempt to warn fans that he was serious. However, it seems he has now shut it down for good.
Bieber’s fans, known as Beliebers, are now greeted with the following error message when accessing the account: “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed. Go back to Instagram.”
His account had an estimated 78 million active followers.
Ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez had her own opinions to share following the drama, adding: “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you (sic).”
This led Bieber to defend his argument, replying: “It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love. I’m not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers (sic).”
The star then accused Bieber of cheating in the past, prompting him to reply: “I cheated…Oh and I forgot about you and Zayn.” Fans speculate Bieber is referring to One Direction’s Zayn Malik.
Gomez had previously said about Malik: “If he had asked me out on a date, I would be seen with him. Just kidding, but not kidding.”
It is unknown whether Bieber will reinstate his Instagram account, as not every fan was critical of his girlfriend.
