The singer says she’s genuinely sad over the couple’s divorce
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt made headlines after she filed for divorce on Monday. Now Adele has dedicated her recent Madison Square Garden concert to the popular couple, describing the situation as “the end of an era.”
The Hello hitmaker said during the gig: “Brangelina have broken up. I mean, I don’t like gossiping and I think private lives should be private but I feel like it’s the end of an era.
I’m dedicating this show tonight to them because honestly, I’m really really sad. Genuinely!
I don’t know them at all, but I was shocked when I woke up this morning, no word of a lie. I’m glad I spoke about that because it was playing on my mind.”
Jolie reportedly called it quits after being severely upset by the way Pitt was treating their six children. Now the actress is battling over joint legal custody with Pitt having visitation rights.
Her manager, Geyer Kosinki, said: “Angelina is doing what’s best in the interest of taking care of her children. She appreciates everyone’s understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”
Attorney Robert Offer also explained: “Angelina has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
Other actors have since come forth with their own opinion regarding the matter, with Jennifer Aniston blaming the divorce on karma.
Jolie’s father, Jon Voight, reacted by adding the reason for the divorce must have been “pretty severe.”
He recently told Entertainment Tonight: “It must have been pretty severe for this to happen. I don’t know much yet, but [I] plan on speaking to her and the kids very soon.”
