The model prefers a good workout when preparing for a new campaign
David Gandy says he is not a fan of strict dieting as he doesn’t believe they produce substantial results.
The 36-year-old model says he prefers to watch what he eats and even exercise more aggressively, but strict dieting routines are simply not his cup of tea. He does admit, however, that intense preparations for certain campaigns are typically “boring.”
He shared with Glamour magazine: “When I’m shooting a campaign, I up my training to seven days a week, involving high-intensity and high-impact workouts.
Although I don’t believe in diets and eat very healthily, I do watch what I eat during that time. It’s a boring few weeks, but the results are worth it.”
Although he puts minimal effort into his overall beauty routine, Gandy says that the men’s skincare industry is not as robust as it could be.
“Unlike the female beauty industry, men’s grooming is virtually untouched – and it’s about to take off. There is still a lot of education to be done to teach men how to follow a routine and the importance of skincare, whatever your age.”
The model also revealed how he keeps his skin tone healthy, adding: “My regime is based around three core products – a scrub, a serum and a moisturiser. That’s all I think men need.
Men have thicker skin than women, so there is a huge gap in the market for really effective men’s skincare.”
Despite a successful modeling career, Gandy still has an ambitious list of things he would like to explore someday.
He shared: “I’m not even close to being done – there is so much more that I want to achieve. I have lots of collaborations in the pipeline and I’m enjoying going beyond just the visual side of things.
I’m working with my teams to build and develop the creative and business concepts, which is really exciting.”
