Eva Mendes had her second daughter back in April, and although regaining her pre-pregnancy figure would be nice, the actress says she isn’t rushing to make it happen.

The 42-year-old star is currently enjoying her time with little Amanda and staying focused, saying she is in a happy “mommy place.”

She told Extra: “I just don’t put a lot of pressure on myself. I try to take care of myself as far as eating right and things like that, but especially so soon after a baby, I’m like, ‘It’s OK, I don’t need to fit into my jeans for a while, I’m all right.’ Maybe if I never fit into my original jeans, it’s fine, it’s all good.”

Mendes says she is very enthusiastic with her two daughters, revealing that they have enriched her life more than anything she had ever hoped for.

“They really are little angels. The baby’s four months and she’s just the best. It’s amazing – it really is. I’m in that mommy happy place.”

Meanwhile, the star spoke out before launching her New York and Company Eva Mendes Collection as part of New York Fashion Week. She said her clothing line was inspired by modern women who embrace many styles.

She shared: “The inspiration for this is, like, what I’m doing at home all the time – I’m always putting my hair up in a tie and then I wanted to personalize the show and give it something that was specifically me and something I love, so I incorporated into the show.”

Mendes also acknowledged her hair ties, revealing they are her favorite: “Fall, winter, spring – it’s such an easy thing to do when you’re having a bad hair day.”
