The two could soon get together for a duet
Justin Timberlake is open to collaborating with Britney Spears, revealing he would “absolutely” enjoy a duet. Spears had recently admitted she’d like to walk into the studio alongside the 35-year-old artist, prompting him to reciprocate by saying he is accessible.
Timberlake told E! when informed about Spears’ request: “She did? Sure! Absolutely, absolutely. I have a 17 month old so I don’t get the headline news. I apologize for not being in the know … I’m accessible, give us a call!”
The news comes after the Toxic hitmaker – who dated Timberlake for three years – talked about the artists she would like to work with and complimented him as being “very good.”
She previously stated: “Aerosmith seems really good and bright. He’s a genius I think. He’s very rock n’ roll. He sings from his soul. Gwen Stefani, I think she’s great. Justin Timberlake is very good.”
Coincidentally, a source had also admitted at the time that Timberlake was “totally down” to the idea.
The insider shared: “Justin would be totally down with doing a song with Britney sometime in the future.”
The source also noted that the Cry Me a River artist would like to work on something modern and substantial, not merely a song that evokes nostalgia.
He continued: “He would want it to be something amazing and not just do it for the nostalgia of it all. Though he is not actively pursuing a duet with her, he would welcome the discussion and would be happy if it were to happen.”
The two met while working together in Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club and began dating shortly after becoming pop stars.
