Beyoncé also celebrated with DJ Khaled, Coldplay, and others
Beyoncé celebrated her 35th birthday on Sunday at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia, and Kelly Rowland surprised the singer with a set of shiny diamonds.
In celebration of Beyonce’s special day, Rowland told E! News: “Well, diamonds are a girl’s best friend. I got her diamonds!”
The artist was accompanied by many other friends in the industry at the popular festival, which was set up by husband Jay Z.
The event also featured numerous performances from acts such as DJ Khaled and Coldplay.
Frontman Chris Martin shared a word during his performance, saying: “We want to say happy birthday to Mrs. Carter who is out here somewhere. Can you believe she is 107 years old? Happy birthday Bey.”
Rowland went on to reveal how excited she was to see so many people at the time, adding: “I am super excited to be here and hear all the artists. Chance the Rapper should be great to hear.
We are all going to be celebrating this festival and Beyoncé’s birthday! We are all going to be together. I am getting ready to see her now!”
Other celebrities took to social media to congratulate the star and celebrate her special day. Some included Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian West, Nicki Minaj, among others.
Laverne Cox followed up with a tweet, saying: “#HappyBeyDay Happy Birthday @Beyonce I have been singing #Freedom all week. It just feels like we need this song right now. (sic)”
The next phase of celebrations comes after the singer – who has a four-year-old daughter with the iconic rapper – marked the day by sharing the music video for her song Hold Up.
