Miley Cyrus will not make it to season 12
It’s official: Gwen Stefani is set to replace Miley Cyrus as a mentor on the hit show The Voice during season 12. However, the 23-year-old will subsequently return for season 13. Gwen will take on the job alongside Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton.
NBC Entertainment’s Paul Telegdy said: “We can’t wait to experience the unique chemistry and energy Gwen, Alicia, Blake and Adam will bring to season 12.
With Miley returning for season 13, we’re truly ecstatic about the unmatched musical know-how and talent coming together in our coming seasons.”
And the group has gotten really close over time, which is something Adam never expected. He shared: “We all started as singers and musicians, it’s a sense of community now, it was like, ‘Wow we know each other’ when before it was all about music and now we are all friends.
Everyone is always so busy that you don’t get to make friends with your peers. With ‘The Voice’ I now have these lifelong friends that I communicate with and talk to. I wouldn’t have thought I would have been friends with Shakira or Usher, it’s crazy.”
Meanwhile, Gwen and Blake are still going strong and have gotten along quite well, both professionally and off the show. Gwen recently admitted it was hard to believe she’s actually dating him.
She stated: “I’m our biggest fan. I actually feel like I’m not in my own life, because I’m not. I’m in a different life all of a sudden. I’m so blessed and I feel like I believe in my path. Now there’s all these miracles around me!
Trust me, I still can’t believe that happened and is still happening. For whatever reason, I was chosen to be in this position, and I’m so honored and more confident. And I look at it, like, it always works out.”
