Hailey: “I want to do everything on my own”
Hailey Baldwin – the daughter of Stephen and Kennya Baldwin – wants to prove her talents without depending on her famous family’s name. The star was partially inspired by her prominent uncles, acknowledging they all had to do the same.
She shared with Grazia magazine: “I want to do everything on my own without my name being a factor.
I try to keep myself separate from it. Kids that already have a famous background are just following in their families’ footsteps. My dad and all of his brothers have done this. This is my family business.”
Despite coming from a rather wealthy and famous family, the star tries her best to stay grounded and her dad has even encouraged her to do so if her lifestyle ever goes to her head.
“My dad has said to me that if he ever thought I was getting out of line, he would fly anywhere and rag me by my hair and make me move home. But my parents know I’m a good kid.”
Hailey – who was previously linked to singer Justin Bieber – was homeschooled and says this made her more mature than others hers age.
She said: “I actually think that helped me become very mature for my age. I didn’t turn out socially awkward, but I just missed out on the partying and all the boys and drama. It helped me skip past being childish.”
And though she appreciates her fortune, the model sometimes wishes for a simple life, adding: “I was sitting on the plane yesterday, thinking I wish I could snap my fingers and go back in time to where I grew up, back with my parents when things were more simple.
But this is the way life is right now and I would never, ever, ever change it. I wouldn’t take it back for anything.”
