The star follows an odd, but reportedly effective plan
Mark Wahlberg has a rather strict habit when it comes to meals, which consist of eating egg whites, Ezekiel bread and almond butter at two in the morning. But not everyone is fond of this approach, as his four children consider him “disgusting” for it.
He revealed on Live! With Kelly: “I start at, like, 2 a.m. Egg whites and Ezekiel bread with some almond butter. Then I have some Greek yogurt and a shake. And turkey burgers with sweet potato. Then I have a chicken.
The kids are eating pancakes and I’m just roasting a chicken, and the whole house smells like chicken, and they are like, ‘Dad, you are disgusting.’ I’ve had all those meals already today, and I just had a tuna salad. And I’m looking forward to some whitefish in about an hour.”
His food choices are partly due to a slower metabolism, as the 45-year-old actor is finding it more difficult to stay in shape as he gets older.
He said: “It gets harder the older you get. That’s why staying in shape and maintaining it is always easier than going from one extreme to the other, heavy to getting in shape to stopping training and getting heavy again.”
The star had recently revealed he always welcomes feedback and has become much wiser over the years. He is now the first to ask questions and admits he doesn’t pretend to know everything.
“People always ask, ‘What would you say to the 15- or 16-year-old Mark Wahlberg? I say, ‘Why would I bother? He wouldn’t listen. He thought he knew it all.’ …
I’m not afraid to ask questions. I don’t pretend to know what I’m talking about. If there’s something I don’t understand, I’m the first one to say, ‘Explain that to me until I do understand it.’ Like learning the beverage business, learning the restaurant business.”
