The Republican presidential nominee is staging rallies in Ocala and Lakeland on Wednesday.
Donald Trump is pushing hard to take back Florida, and he’s in the Sunshine State today for two rallies, one in Ocala and then one at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport.
Florida is an important swing state, and one that Hillary Clinton appears to currently have an edge on. He held a rally in Panama City on Tuesday night as his campaign struggles with just a few weeks left until Election Day on Nov. 8.
A mistake he made during the Panama City rally has already made the rounds: he urged voters to get out and vote on Nov. 28, nearly three weeks after the real Election Day.
Poor debate performances and the bombshell release of a 2005 tape showing Trump making lewd remarks about women and bragging about being able to commit sexual assault has seen his poll numbers sag heavily, allowing his opponent, Hillary Clinton, to surge to a seemingly insurmountable lead that Trump will have difficulty overcoming.
RealClear Politics released their average of polls on Wednesday, and it shows Clinton up by 6.2 percentage points.
Trump has been trying to capitalize on a slew of leaked documents released by Wikileaks, pointing out emails that indicated that Clinton had a private and public position on policy, for example. He has hammered Clinton on her missing emails almost since his campaign began. Trump has also brought up her husband’s sexual history and scandals, even bringing women who have accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault to the recent debate.
