Bruno has a hard time coping with the star’s untimely death
Bruno Mars admits he still thinks about Prince on a regular basis, considering how seemingly healthy the singer was.
He told Culture magazine: “I don’t know why I keep thinking about Prince. He looked like he was in better shape than I ever was in my whole life, then it was gone.”
The singer is also aware of the difficulties fame can cause in an individual, admitting that it often makes one feel numb.
“You can become numb. You can start reading the things they’re saying about you. You fall into liquor and partying when you love the lights too much.”
And although he is grateful for his success, Bruno tries to stay out of the spotlight as much as possible and enjoy some privacy.
He explained: “If I’m having a good time, then a) I don’t want no one to know where the hell I am, and b) I’m probably too drunk to pick up the phone, take a selfie and go through all that.”
The star had previously explained how the struggles he endured early in his career have shaped who he is today: “My dad was just the king of finding these little spots for us to stay that we should never have been staying at … It didn’t have plants growing inside. I don’t know what happened to the roof. But the bed would be right there in the middle.
We’d all sleep in one bed. We had each other, and it never felt like it was the end of the world. Maybe that’s why I have this mentality when it comes to the music. Because I know I’m going to figure it out, just give me some time.”
