Chelsea Handler understands that some may refrain from dating her, as she admits to be loud in social environments. In fact, the star says she wouldn’t date herself to avoid any uncomfortable situation.

She explained to Fairfax Media: “I don’t think loud women are that attractive, I get it. If I wasn’t me, I wouldn’t be into me either, I get that, but it’s necessary. We’ve come a long way and we have a long way to go and so do a million other people.

It’s not just about being a woman, it’s about being a million things. It’s also about everybody being equal, and so I think that’s a really important issue for me and it’s about getting that messaging out and just being fun and cool and informative and doing what you can in your little way to contribute.”

The 41-year-old beauty is grateful for hosting her own show on Netflix and feels she can finally speak about important issues without restrain.

She continued: “I feel free, I feel more adult. I feel like I just got my s**t together a little bit more. People come to me for information that they normally wouldn’t come to [me for]. I definitely command a different level of respect from people, so that’s good …”

Handler also encourages others to be more aware of issues that affect everyday society, even if it doesn’t bother someone on a personal level.

“I don’t think I’m that important, but I do think that I have an opportunity and I don’t want to squander it.

I do think it’s important to look around and notice that just because something doesn’t affect you maybe in your small life, it does definitely affect people around you and you’ve got to do what you can. You’ve got to do something. I don’t have a family to raise. I don’t have kids to worry about. I have no excuse not to get involved, so that’s my reasoning.”
