The singer wants a mix of “Middle Eastern and Latin crazy all at once”
Ricky Martin – who recently proposed to Jwan Yosef – recalls feeling great joy when same-sex marriage was legalized. He is now looking to make his upcoming wedding a “crazy and loud” one as he puts his dream ceremony into motion.
He shared with People magazine: “[After gay marriage was legalised] I thought, ‘I hope someday I get to wear a freaking ring and celebrate love and bring my family and friends to a big feast and get all Latin crazy on it.
This [wedding] is going to be Middle Eastern and Latin crazy all at once. It’s going to be one loud wedding!”
And although the two have only been dating for a year, he is quite certain about their future because their connection has always felt “magical.”
“It’s one of those things when you have very beautiful moments, magical moments, magical conversations and beautiful experiences and all this time, you’re thinking, maybe it’s here.
Then you just go for it and allow yourself to feel… I’m very certain about what’s happening. I’m a hopeless romantic.”
In addition to an extravagant wedding, the She Bangs hitmaker is preparing for his residency in Las Vegas. The singer had been offered the opportunity in the past, but always felt the timing just wasn’t right. However, he is now looking forward to experiencing the lucrative opportunity.
When asked if the gig suited him because of his family, he answered: “That is not exactly why I made the decision to come to Vegas, to be honest. It’s checking the box that as an entertainer you have to experience.
If you just look at the artists that have been here and see the level of entertainment and artistry the city sees every year, this is a serious town with artistry and entertainment, and what a coincidence that it’s also amazing for my kids and for my family.”
