Get ready, Apple fans: a new rumor suggests that the iPhone you know and love may be getting a big makeover.
The iPhone 7 has only been out for weeks and already there’s a big rumor going around about the iPhone 8, and depending on how you feel about the latest iPhone, it could be very good news. The leak suggests that the iPhone 8 will probably get a radical redesign that people have been clamoring for, with an edge to edge display and other tweaks.
The iPhone 7 was heavily criticized when it came out earlier this year for essentially being the same as the iPhone 6S, and even the iPhone 6, with almost no changes or significant upgrades. Of course, you could argue that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, but people have come to expect Apple to wow them with each subsequent new phone, and iPhone 7 was certainly a disappointment by most people’s standards.
So with the iPhone 8, Apple may have learned its lesson if the rumors are true. The iPhone 8, set for release in 2017, would probably be a completely new form factor, with a research report claiming that sources in Apple are indicating the iPhone 8 will have 5 and 5.8-inch displays, and the displays will be edgeless, so in actuality the true size of the iPhone model won’t change at all. Barclay Research also says that the iPhone 8 will have curved displays.
