Hadid: Nobody deserves to live a debilitating life
Yolanda Hadid – who suffers from Lyme disease along with children Anwar and Bella – is adamant about helping find a cure after witnessing her daughter being held back by the disease. Bella, 20, is reportedly suffering severely and even had to give up a dream profession as an equestrian.
Due to her severe condition, Bella was forced to “move in another direction” and Yolanda now wants to prevent others from suffering the same fate.
She told reporters in Sydney: “It’s something she worked for her whole life but she got too sick and her brain was too affected to continue that journey. She re-tracked, we treated her, and she moved in another direction.
Thank God it worked out the way it did. But Bella is still suffering every day. That’s what motivates me. We must find a cure. Nobody deserves to live a debilitating life.”
Meanwhile the television star – who also has Gigi Hadid with former partner Mohamed – previously gushed about Bella for managing such a debilitating disease so well.
She said: “It’s hard for people to understand the invisible disability that rules our life, especially behind the beautiful face that shines so bright on the cover of magazines.”
Likewise, the young model acknowledges her mother’s own struggles and admitted she would often cry while feeling helpless.
Bella explained: “I am so proud of my mom. I have seen you in bed, struggling for the past five years of our lives, thinking to myself ‘why would this happen to such an angel? I would cry to myself knowing that there was nothing I could do to help and that there were people going against you and what you are/were going through.”
