A group of scientists from Florida is demanding a meeting with Donald Trump to talk about climate change. The Miami Herald reports that 10 scientists from the largest universities in Florida have sent Trump a letter asking for a meeting.
Florida is of particular concern because it would be one of the states most affected by rising sea levels caused by global warming. Trump has appointed people to his cabinet who outright deny climate change is even happening despite overwhelming consensus in the scientific community.
However, some see hope that he will do something about the issue, as he granted meetings with Al Gore and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, both of whom strongly favor action on address climate change.
