John Legend feels disappointed as he missed his daughter Luna’s first encounter with Santa.

His wife, Chrissy Teigen, was well aware of this important event and came up with a plan to still include her husband. She simply printed his face onto a stick and got someone to hold it over their face for a family portrait.

The 31-year-old beauty shared via Twitter: “When your husband is in Paris but you gotta get your Santa on”

And this isn’t the only event John has missed, as he failed to hear the eight-month-old’s first words while he was busy promoting his newest album, Darkness & Light.

The star revealed how Luna not only yelled out for her ‘mama,’ but also for ‘dada’ while he was gone.

He explained: “She said ‘mama’ the other day. I missed it. She said ‘dada’ as well!”

Despite these missed opportunities, the singer is looking forward to experiencing Christmas with the tot for the first time, although he won’t shower her with gifts.

He shared: “We’re not going to spoil her much for Christmas because she’ll have no idea and she’ll have no appreciation.”

However, they are open to dressing up the little one and do more family-oriented things, adding: “I think most of the things we’ll do for her for Christmas will really be for us… like dressing her up.”

John admitted they have not embraced Christmas to the fullest, but plan on getting their first tree this year.

“We haven’t done a family Christmas photo, but we’re going to do a holiday party, we’re going to get the tree, this will be our first Christmas tree, me and Chrissy.

We’ve never have had a time when we were home during Christmas because we usually travel to family members, who live in Ohio or Thailand, where her parents lived before.

This is the first time that we’ve actually been able to be home and have our own tree and decorate our own house for Christmas and we’ve got our baby there to celebrate with us.”
