The star gushes about having a “functional family”
Ryan Reynolds – who welcomed his second daughter with wife Blake Lively in September – believes his family is pretty functional and his older daughter even looks after the newborn. In fact, the couple is amazed at the way 23-month-old James enjoys taking care of her little sister.
He revealed to Entertainment Tonight: “They look alike. You can see that she’s sort of a little mini version of our older girl.
But, no, it’s great. It’s like an actually cohesive, working, functioning family. It’s amazing to see my older daughter taking care of my younger one. ‘The Lion King‘ was right! The circle of life exists.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Ryan complimented his daughter’s mannerisms, as he had previously described her skills as “profound.”
“It was kind of profound. I just love watching my older daughter take care of the newborn. That’s been kind of neat to see,” he recalled.
And the actor – whose younger daughter’s name is still unknown – said that having another child hasn’t affected the dynamic of their home.
He shared: “It didn’t change the dynamic. There’s just more. There’s more love, there’s more diapers. There’s more of all that stuff, you know.”
Meanwhile, the Deadpool star said that being a dad is the “best thing” that’s ever happened to him, and confessed he tries not to be very strict with his children.
“It’s the best thing. You know, it’s the best thing that could ever happen to you. It’s really hard to have boundaries because you just do anything they say. Like, anything they’ll say!”
