Source: All the women are officially signed up
51-year-old Sarah Jessica Parker is said to have signed a contract for a Sex and the City sequel. The star will be joined by fellow co-stars Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and Candace Bushnell.
While more details have yet to emerge, a source has confirmed that the stars are officially onboard and a script has already been greenlit.
The insider explained to RadarOnline.com: “All the women are officially signed up for SATC movie 3. The deal is done and the script has been approved by all the women.”
The film is based on the original books consisting of a collection of essays written by Candace. These mainly tell the story about her lifestyle and the adventures she experienced with friends.
But it hasn’t all been smooth on the Sex and the City world. Sarah planned to skip the third film due to issues with the script. Now it is said that tweaks and improvements have been made to help the actress join in.
The source explained: “There was a lot of back and forth. Sarah Jessica Parker was not originally on board because she didn’t like the idea of the characters being portrayed in a more mature light.
The full green light for ‘Sex and the City 3’ the movie is really new. Everyone’s happy with how things have turned out and they can’t wait to get started working together again.”
However, it’s not clear whether Kim Cattrell will join the cast after all, as Candace will be primarily involved instead.
Shooting is expected to start toward the summer, and fans have been eagerly waiting for some time now.
Sarah stated earlier this year: “[There is] always a possibility, definitely. I don’t know whether it’s a series or the movie. I think that remains an open question and discussion that will continue until it’s been resolved.”
