The model was met with rude comments soon after joining the social network
Sofia Richie recently joined Twitter hoping to have a great time connecting with fans. However, it didn’t take long for her to receive rude remarks from unknown users.
The star was quick to fire back by slamming the “psychotic” people who purposely say mean things without knowing about her personal life.
She told Complex magazine: “This s**t is crazy! I was laughing about my life, like, oh my god, people are so psychotic. Some girl I don’t even know commented on my picture a week ago, ‘You should go kill yourself.’ I just had to say something. I commented back, ‘I just want to understand the sadness in your heart.’
A lot of people say they know me and my life, but no one really does. Except for, like, my family and Bronte. It’s frustrating. My whole thing is I’m trying to spread love to everyone. Some people don’t see that, but I really am trying to spread positivity to people.”
The 18-year-old model – daughter of the iconic Lionel Richie – announced her “arrival” on Twitter in November, adding: “Just a bit late to the twitter game.”
And this wouldn’t be the first time Sofia was harshly criticized online. Former boyfriend Justin Bieber closed his Instagram account earlier this year after fans continuously posted rude messages about her.
He shared as a result of the negativity: “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
The ordeal quickly reached ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, who was quick to fire back by adding: “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.”
