Longoria: I'm the luckiest human being in the world
Eva Longoria – who married Jose Baston in 2016 – admitted she didn’t instantly fall for the businessman and instead this was a case of “love at second sight.”
The star, who met her husband through a mutual friend, shared with Access Hollywood: “It was love at second sight. A mutual friend of ours introduced us and we were like, ‘Hey’, and then like six months later that same friend reintroduced us and I was like, ‘Who is that?’
And he was like, ‘I introduced you, like, six months ago’. I was like, ‘I don’t remember meeting that guy. He’s the most handsome man I’ve ever met’ … It’s all about timing and the universe and destiny.”
The couple will celebrate their one-year anniversary in May, but she revealed they have been acknowledging every month since the beginning.
“We celebrate every month … and now I can’t believe it’s (anniversary) getting closer already.
It’s great, I’m just on cloud nine. He’s amazing … he’s just the best. Everybody that meets him falls in love with him. They’re like, ‘I love Pepe’.”
And Eva – who was previously married to actor Tyler Christopher and athlete Tony Parker – recently confessed to feel quite lucky to be with Jose.
“I feel like I’m the luckiest human being in the world, and he feels that he’s the luckiest and that’s a beautiful thing. We have so much respect for each other’s dreams and ambitions, for our families and our life goals together. I never felt I was partnered with an equal until I met him.”
When it comes to starting a family, the actress says they are in no rush: “If it is on the horizon for us, then great, but we are just enjoying each other now.”
