Rosie: It was a very weird and surreal moment
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley portrayed The Splendid Angharad in 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. The actress has now revealed she lost her eyelashes when the film crew removed a latex cast she had posed for.
And although she was willing to be placed in latex during the production of the prop, the ensuing removal process didn’t go very well as the prosthetic was effectively stuck to her face and lashes.
Rosie – who is engaged to actor Jason Statham – admitted that walking around with no eyelids or lashes was a bizarre experience.
She shared on the television show This Morning: “I had to have my whole body cast, I guess they were making a fake body of me for a film I did ‘Mad Max‘, and they put the cast over my head.
It was a very weird and surreal moment and as they took it off it pulled out all my eye lashes because the plaster got into my eyelashes and pulled out all my eyelashes.
So for about three months I had no eyelashes. That was probably the biggest make-up or beauty fail and it was quite painful! It was quite dramatic as well.”
Meanwhile, the star had previously admitted to have enjoyed wearing a fake stomach bump for the film. The actress, who worked alongside Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, said it truly made her feel like she was expecting.
“It was really fun, it was really different for me to play someone who is pregnant because normally I have to have a super flat stomach, so it was kind of nice.
The prosthetic team had worked on the belly for several months before, and it had all my natural markings and freckles on the belly, it was weighted, so it felt really, really natural and beautiful. I felt really lovely until about six o’clock at night when my back would start to ache. I felt truly pregnant. I found myself eating my lunch off the top of it.”
