A messy situation developed recently after a woman acting a surrogate for a Chinese couple found that she had become pregnant with her own child as well.  Jessica Allen had been paid $30,000 in April 2016 to act as a surrogate mother, and when the couple found out that she had two babies in her uterus, they were so excited they paid her another $5,000.

But things went south after that, as the children were born and one baby was clearly Asian while the other was obviously hers. The rare medical situation is known as superfetation, and only a handful of cases have been documented worldwide.

The Chinese couple was upset at the news and even tried to put the baby up for adoption, but eventually Malachi was reunited with his mom, as well as his dad and two brothers.
