The Nibiru cataclysm hoax is once again making the rounds, and the new end date for the world is April 23.
The Earth has a new expiration date, and it is April 23, this time for real according to proponents of the Nibiru cataclysm who have proven relentless despite numerous failed predictions already. The rather small number of believers in this conspiracy theory believe that because the sun, moon, and Jupiter will all align with the constellation Virgo on that date, that means a massive “Planet X” will come out of nowhere and either sideswipe or collide with the Earth, ending humanity.
It is nonsense, obviously, as it would be touch to miss an entire planet just eight days away from hitting the Earth. But that doesn’t stop the believers of the Nibiru cataclysm, who predict that this event will launch the Rapture foretold of in the Bible and end humanity.
Nibiru will cause World War III to break out, the Antichrist will return, and it will all launch seven years of Tribulation – so goes the claim. But a more accurate prediction is that nothing of cosmic significance will happen anywhere near Earth on April 23, and the Nibiru prophets will come up with a few new dates until they get tired of being wrong.
“The Nibiru cataclysm is a supposed disastrous encounter between the Earth and a large planetary object (either a collision or a near-miss) which certain groups believe will take place in the early 21st century,” reads an excerpt from Wikipedia. “Believers in this doomsday event usually refer to this object as Planet X or Nibiru. The idea that a planet-sized object will collide with or closely pass by Earth in the near future is not supported by any scientific evidence and has been rejected by astronomers and planetary scientists as pseudoscience and an Internet hoax.”
