However, something keeps holding her back…
Kylie Minogue became engaged to 28-year-old Joshua Sasse earlier this year, but the two are holding back until same-sex marriage is legalized in Australia.
But that hasn’t stopped the star from dreaming of tying the knot as soon as possible, as she revealed to the Evening Standard newspaper: “Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.”
Joshua had previously stated they have discussed the possibility of marrying in the city of Melbourne, but don’t feel comfortable making a move until the law has passed.
“There are chances of a Melbourne wedding but me and Kylie have talked about it and we are not comfortable getting married until this law has passed.
That is something that we’ve talked about and decided on. Why should we? Why is it fair? Why are we more important than anyone else? It’s not right and something’s got to be done about it,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Kylie’s former boyfriend Jason Donovan revealed it took him a long time to get over the Spinning Around singer.
The two worked together in the Australian soap opera Neighbors and created the hit single Especially for You. He confessed the split hit him quite hard after she went on to date his idol, the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.
He said: “It was bad enough that she’d run off with anybody. But she happened to run into the arms of the greatest rock god of the period, the very guy I secretly wanted to be. That was a pretty big punch to take.
It was an extremely painful parting of the ways and, without doubt, I took a long time to recover from it. Years, definitely.”
These days they don’t normally communicate much and he can’t seem to remember when he last spoke to the star.
“Kylie and I had an incredible time together but we drifted apart. I can’t remember the last time I spoke to her, it was years ago,” he shared.
